The River Dee (Afon Dyfyrdwy) tumbles round its horseshoe bend, through Llangollen, and out between mild green meadows, then leaves Wales to curl out across the Cheshire plain. The north side of the Vale is a white limestone escarpment and the south all steep little wooded hills. These walks visit the crags and the woods and the pastures in the valley. And they visit famous places - Valle Crucis Abbey, Plas Newydd (home of the Ladies of Llangollen), Castle Dinas Bran, the Froncysllte Aqueduct, a steam railway, and the Motor Museum. Each of the 27 walkes give directions both ways and you can start from most of the junctions. The routes can be linked to make circular walks.
